INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Required Tools: Hot knife (recommended) or sharp scissors, optional: heat shrink end caps or cable ties
Step 1 — Measure & Cut
Determine the required length and diameter of braided sleeve. Select a nominal diameter slightly smaller than your cable bundle (the sleeve will expand to fit). Cut to length using a hot knife for a clean, fray-free seal. If using scissors, briefly melt the cut ends with a lighter to prevent fraying.
Step 2 — Expand & Slide
Gather the cable bundle together. Hold one end of the braided sleeve and compress it lengthwise to expand the diameter. Slide the expanded sleeve over the cable bundle from one end to the other. For bundles with large connectors, simply expand the sleeve further — it can stretch up to 150% of its nominal size.
Step 3 — Position & Release
Once the sleeve is in position, gently pull on both ends to contract the sleeve snugly around the cable bundle. The braid will automatically tighten and conform to the shape of the wires.
Step 4 — Secure Ends (Optional)
For permanent installations, secure both ends of the sleeve using heat shrink tubing, cable ties, or adhesive-lined heat shrink end caps. This prevents the sleeve from shifting or sliding along the harness during vibration or movement.
Step 5 — Branching (Optional)
For cable harnesses with branches or splits, simply spread the braid weave at the desired point and feed the branch cable through the weave. The braided structure naturally accommodates pass-throughs without cutting.
Tip: For a professional finish, use matching-color heat shrink to cap both ends of the braided sleeve.
SIZING GUIDE
• Measure the diameter of your cable bundle at its widest point
• Choose a braided sleeve with a nominal diameter approximately 20–30% smaller than your bundle diameter
• The sleeve will expand to fit over connectors and contract to hug the bundle for a clean fit
• Example: 10mm cable bundle → use 6–8mm nominal diameter braided sleeve
