PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Our PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) heat shrink tubing is a high-performance fluoropolymer solution engineered for applications requiring exceptional chemical resistance, high-temperature stability, and high-purity material properties. Manufactured from radiation-crosslinked PVDF resin (Kynar®-equivalent), this tubing delivers a unique combination of thermal, chemical, and mechanical performance that bridges the gap between standard polyolefin tubing and premium perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) products.

With a 2:1 shrink ratio, this single-wall tubing recovers uniformly at moderate temperatures while maintaining excellent dimensional stability at continuous operating temperatures up to 175°C. PVDF is inherently flame-retardant without halogenated additives, producing low smoke and minimal toxic emissions during combustion. Its high-purity formulation makes it suitable for semiconductor manufacturing, medical devices, and battery applications where contamination control is critical.

This PVDF heat shrink tubing fully complies with RoHS 3.0 and REACH SVHC requirements and meets UL 224 VW-1 flammability standards, making it suitable for the most demanding industrial and specialty applications.

PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGES

► Outstanding Chemical Inertness
PVDF exhibits exceptional resistance to a broad spectrum of chemicals including strong acids, bases, halogens, solvents, fuels, and oils. It maintains its mechanical and electrical properties even after prolonged immersion in aggressive chemical environments — far outperforming polyolefin and most other heat shrink materials.

► High-Temperature Performance (175°C Continuous)
Rated for continuous operation at 175°C with short-term exposure to 200°C, PVDF tubing is suitable for high-heat industrial processes, battery systems, and equipment where standard 125°C or 150°C materials degrade prematurely.

► Inherent Flame Retardancy — Low Smoke, Zero Halogen Additives
PVDF is naturally self-extinguishing without the need for halogenated flame retardant additives. It achieves UL 224 VW-1 flammability while producing low smoke and minimal corrosive byproducts during combustion — a significant advantage for enclosed and occupied environments.

► High-Purity Material Grade
Manufactured from high-purity PVDF resin with low ionic extractables and minimal outgassing, this tubing is suitable for semiconductor wafer processing, medical device components, lithium-ion battery systems, and other contamination-sensitive applications.

► Excellent Radiation Resistance
PVDF withstands high levels of gamma radiation and electron beam exposure without significant degradation of mechanical or electrical properties, making it the material of choice for nuclear facilities, medical sterilization processes, and aerospace radiation environments.

► Superior UV & Weathering Stability
PVDF is virtually unaffected by ultraviolet radiation and outdoor weathering. It retains its color, mechanical strength, and electrical properties after decades of outdoor exposure — ideal for solar energy, outdoor telecom, and architectural applications.

► High Mechanical Strength & Abrasion Resistance
With a tensile strength exceeding 30 MPa — roughly three times that of standard polyolefin tubing — PVDF provides exceptional mechanical protection, cut-through resistance, and abrasion durability for wiring in harsh mechanical environments.

► Very Low Moisture Absorption
Water absorption below 0.05% ensures stable dielectric performance in high-humidity and submerged applications, with no dimensional change or property degradation due to moisture ingress.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Required Tools: Heat gun (minimum 350°C output), heat-resistant gloves, utility knife or tubing cutter

Step 1 — Preparation
Cut PVDF tubing to the required length using a sharp blade. PVDF is a rigid material — ensure clean, square cuts to avoid cracking or splitting during recovery.

Step 2 — Placement
Slide the tubing over the wire, cable, or component and position it over the target area.

Step 3 — Heat Application
Apply heat evenly using a heat gun set to approximately 350°C. Begin at one end and move gradually along the tubing length, or start from the center and work outward. PVDF has a higher recovery temperature than polyolefin — ensure sufficient heat input for complete shrinkage. Keep the heat source moving to avoid localized overheating or surface discoloration.

Step 4 — Verification
Continue heating until the tubing has fully conformed to the underlying shape with a smooth, wrinkle-free surface. PVDF will appear slightly glossy when properly heated and recovered.

Step 5 — Cooling
Allow the tubing to cool naturally. PVDF sets quickly once heat is removed, forming a rigid, tight-fitting insulation layer.

Note: PVDF tubing is stiffer than polyolefin after recovery and provides a more rigid, abrasion-resistant finish. For applications requiring flexibility, consider a thinner wall or specify a flexible PVDF grade.
