PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Our diesel-resistant high-temperature adhesive-lined heat shrink tubing is purpose-engineered for wiring applications exposed to diesel fuel, engine oil, and elevated under-hood temperatures. Manufactured from a specially modified cross-linked polyolefin outer jacket paired with a fuel-resistant hot-melt adhesive inner liner, this dual-wall tubing delivers reliable performance at continuous operating temperatures up to 150°C — significantly higher than standard 125°C polyolefin tubing.

With a 3:1 shrink ratio, the tubing recovers tightly around connectors, splices, and sensor leads while the inner adhesive melts and flows to form a hermetic, diesel-resistant seal. This bonded construction prevents fuel, oil, moisture, and road contaminants from penetrating electrical connections, making it ideal for diesel trucks, heavy equipment, marine diesel engines, standby generators, and industrial diesel-powered machinery.

Important Note: Flammability ratings apply to the outer modified polyolefin wall. The inner adhesive liner is formulated for fuel resistance and high-temperature sealing and is not independently flame-certified.

PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGES

► Enhanced Diesel Fuel Resistance
Specially formulated polymer compound withstands prolonged contact with diesel fuel, biodiesel (B5-B20), and fuel additives without excessive swelling, softening, or degradation. Maintains seal integrity and mechanical strength even in fuel-wetted engine compartments.

► 150°C High-Temperature Rating
Rated for 150°C continuous operation — 25°C higher than standard polyolefin heat shrink tubing — making it suitable for close-proximity engine wiring, exhaust sensor leads, and high-heat zones in diesel engine bays.

► 3:1 Shrink Ratio for Versatile Fitting
The 3-to-1 recovery ratio accommodates a wide range of wire gauges and connector sizes, including molded diesel injector connectors, sensor plugs, and multi-wire splices. A single tubing size covers more applications, reducing inventory requirements.

► Hermetic Fuel & Moisture Seal
The fuel-resistant adhesive inner liner melts and flows under shrink pressure, creating a 360° bonded seal that blocks diesel, oil, water, salt, and road grime from reaching electrical connections. Prevents corrosion and intermittent electrical failures in harsh under-hood environments.

► Superior Mechanical & Abrasion Protection
The thick-walled construction provides robust abrasion resistance and mechanical protection against vibration, chafing, and impact — essential for heavy-duty truck, construction, and agricultural equipment wiring that experiences constant movement and wear.

► UL VW-1 Flame Retardant Outer Wall
The modified polyolefin outer jacket meets UL 224 VW-1 vertical burn requirements, supporting compliance with automotive and industrial electrical safety standards.

► Long-Term Thermal Aging Stability
Cross-linked molecular structure resists thermal oxidation and embrittlement at elevated temperatures, ensuring years of reliable service in engine compartment environments.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Required Tools: Heat gun (minimum 350°C output), heat-resistant gloves, utility knife or tubing cutter

Step 1 — Preparation
Cut tubing to the required length using a sharp blade or tubing cutter. Allow a minimum overlap of 15–20 mm on each side of the splice or connector to ensure adequate seal length. Deburr cut edges cleanly.

Step 2 — Placement
Slide the tubing over the cable and position it centrally over the splice, connector, or repair area before completing the electrical connection.

Step 3 — Heat Application
Apply heat uniformly using a heat gun set to 350–400°C. Begin heating from the center of the tubing and work progressively outward toward each end. Keep the heat source moving continuously to avoid scorching the surface or overheating the adhesive.

Step 4 — Verification
Continue heating until the tubing has fully conformed to the underlying profile and a continuous bead of adhesive extrudes from both ends, confirming complete circumferential sealing. No wrinkles, bridging, or air bubbles should be visible.

Step 5 — Cooling & Inspection
Allow the assembly to cool naturally. Once cooled, verify full recovery, uniform adhesive coverage, and a tight, wrinkle-free finish. The sealed joint should show no movement when subjected to lateral force.

Note: When installing near hot engine components, ensure the tubing is positioned to avoid direct contact with exhaust manifolds or turbocharger housings where temperatures may exceed the 150°C continuous rating.
